La Tamborinada 2010

30th May, 2010

La Tamborinada is a children’s fetival in the Parc de la Ciutadella that takes place on the 30th of May this yeah. Many people come to enjoy this day with their families in the beautiful city park, where there are clowns, circus acts, magicians, puppets, music and games providing entertainment for kids throughout the park.

The Parc de la Ciutadella is the central park of the city and home to the Barcelona Zoo, the Musuem of Zoology and the Museum of Geology. It is a usually a busy place, crowded with tourists as well as locals going for a walk or taking their children to play with their friends in the children’s areas of the park.

La Tamborinada is organised by the Fundació La Roda, a foundation that focuses on promoting history and languages to children and fighting against any sort of cultural exclusion. The event was set up around 30 years ago as a fun alternative to boring teaching methods and has had increased popularity since then, with 90,000 visitors every year!

The theme at last years Tamborinada was “De tots els colors” (From All Colours), and its main objective was to bring people of all races and origins together in the multi-cultural city of Barcelona. Unfortunatly, the event was cancelled last year due to heavy rain, so check the weather before you visit Barcelona!

La Tamborinada 2010 starts at 11:00 and finishes at 19:00 with many fun activities available for the whole family to enjoy. We recommend our Gaudi apartment, a spacious family apartment in the Gothic Quarter with three bedrooms! Let your inner child come out and check out this unforgettable festival during your stay in one of our holiday apartments in Barcelona!
