Every summer, during the third week of August, the streets of the Gracia neighborhood are all packed with decoration, live music, and many activities for the Festa Major de Gracia.
The several places of Gracia are home to many events, with bands playing late into night. You will also find streets vendors almost everywhere, with sandwiches, “bocadillo” to eat with refreshing sangria or some fresh beers. Since the 8th of September 2009 the musical Hoy No Me Puedo Levantar (Today I Can’t Get Up) by Nacho Cano has been performed in the city of Barcelona, offering a tribute to the Spanish band Mecano. Mecano is a famous band in Spain, selling the most albums in history. During the 80s, many of Mecano’s songs became extremly popular amongst the young generation and were the essence of Hoy No Me Puedo Levantar .
